Roger Steffens: The Family Acid
Exhibition Dates:
January 26 – March 16, 2018
[A]s the exhibition’s name suggests, The Family Acid depicts one family’s acid-fueled journey through counterculture America of the 1960s and beyond.
The Family Acid will run through March 16 at the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts in downtown Tampa. The exhibition is in collaboration with the Benrubi Gallery in New York City and is generously sponsored by Lissa and Charles Lyman.
The featured photographs were all taken by author, actor and reggae archivist Roger Steffens and curated by his children, Kate and Devon Steffens, and his wife, Mary Steffens. The images highlight some of the most well-known facets of American culture in the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s—to include Vietnam, musicians, hippies, family and, of course, acid.
