The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts is excited to announce the museum’s move to a new space in Ybor City in 2023! Our new space will feature over 3,000 square feet of exhibition space, including a separate Community Gallery. Additionally, the new location will offer visitors a ground-floor entrance from the historic 7th Avenue Ybor Citywalk, a gift shop, and space for lectures and Artist Talks. The location will allow us to better serve the Tampa Bay community and share the power of photography with a wider audience. The new building will be the cornerstone of the growing arts scene in Ybor City, and FMoPA is excited to open and welcome visitors to its new home.

Immediate Fundraising Need: Moving and constructing the museum’s space comes with significant expenses, which is why FMoPA is asking for your help! We need to raise a total of $150,000 to fund the construction of our new space in Ybor City, and in order to ensure the museum’s reopening and long-term success, we have set an ultimate fundraising goal of $500,000 for Q1. This will help with:

  • The safe relocation of over 1,300 images in FMoPA’s permanent collection.
  • Transformation of the new space into a suitable and welcoming environment for visitors.
  • Updating marketing and outreach materials related to the new location.

We are grateful for the support of donors and sponsors, and FMoPA hopes that they will consider investing in the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts as the museum embarks on its exciting new chapter. Donors and sponsors can expect a strong return on their investment, as your support will bring quality name recognition in the new location as well as on all marketing materials for the foreseeable future. We look forward to continuing to serve the Tampa Bay community and to bringing the power of photography to even more people.
