Telling better stories: What story do your photographs tell?
Learn how to tell better stories with your images. This class will look at all
aspects of a creative shoot, from the team, the location, the wardrobe, to the
timeline. You will learn to get more out of your shoots by planning ahead (mood
boards, styling boards, location scouting, castings, and more) allowing you to
execute on the day of your shoot with greater efficiency. Use your photographs to
portray a message and connect with viewers. All images tell a story, what is yours?
Lighting the scene or not: Natural vs Artificial Implementation, and why.
Lighting is everything! Without light, we don’t have photographs, and these days we have so many lighting options available. Learn when to add, omit, or subtract light from your scenes/subjects to create the mood you want and elevate your images. Following up from the class: Telling Better Stories, we will talk about how light can change an image and garner attention. Light your way to better photographs!
Just as every movie has a director, so should every photo shoot. If you rely on the model/subject to create the poses, the attitude, or the action…you’ve given the creative control away. Learn how to control and give guidance to the talent and walk away with the images you were going for.
