This Safari includes
one hour of pre-tour
briefing on wildlife
photography
techniques at FMoPA,
three hours of
walking tour with
ample time to
capture
(photographically)
many of the animals,
lunch (available at
the zoo), two hours
of downloading,
projection, and
critique of your
work in the
classroom back at
FMoPA.
As in the
past, this Safari
will be led by Dan
Harnly, our
Wednesday and
Saturday Digital
Photography Workshop
Instructor, and
Audubon
Photographer.
Participants should
meet at FMoPA at
8:00 a.m. on
Saturday, September
6, 2008. Please note
that parking is FREE
north of Kennedy on
Saturdays.
After the
pre-tour briefing we
will carpool to the
zoo.
From 9:30
a.m. until 12:30
p.m., we will tour
the zoo.
We will then
carpool back to
FMoPA (lunch on your
own, on the way) and
from 1:30 p.m. until
4:00 p.m. we will
download, project
and critique our zoo
photos in our
classroom at FMoPA.
Bring your camera,
tripod or monopod,
telephoto lenses and
patience. Check the
weather forecast*
and dress
appropriately
(remember, your
camera does not like
being wet either) so
bring some sort of
rain protection for
it.
In order to
maximize your Safari
experience and not
detract from that of
the others, you
should be very
familiar with the
workings of your
camera, but bring
your manual anyway!
Please do not
bring any rolling
cases or coolers, as
the noise distracts
the animals and
photographers.
Cost of this Safari
is $100.00 for
members and $125.00
for non-members.
The cost
does not cover
admission ($18.95)
or lunch.
AAA members receive
a discount on zoo
admission.
To register, call
FMoPA at
813-221-2222.
Limited to the first
10 - 12 who sign up.
* Safari will occur
regardless of
weather forecast,
unless a tropical
storm or hurricane
emergency has been
declared. In such an
event FMoPA reserves
the right to
re-schedule the
Safari to a later
date.
